about

Ely is one of my first projects ever. Back in 2006 I wanted to create an original soundtrack to a fictional RPG - resulting in an album called "Elysian Black Seas". At the time, I was incredibly proud to have created it, but I didn't have much pratice nor compositional skill - most of it was improvised.

It's quirky, cheesy and most importantly, for me, nostalgic. I often thought about never releasing it. Now, 11 years later, I'm putting it out for free. As a reminder what drove me.

I actually forgot about it, but recently found it via an old "fan" on Youtube. I uploaded it on ffdream.com - as a fan-album of JRPGs - and people enjoyed it. Perhaps you'll enjoy it, too - despite of its flaws.

All music is midi-based and filtered via a Soundfont program.

Cheers,
Norman
